An air fryer that will not turn on may have something as simple as a drawer that is not fully seated or a dead outlet, but thermal protection or an internal fault is also possible. Start with power, assembly, and controls without opening the appliance.
Verify the outlet with a simple known-good device
Plug in a lamp or another simple device you know works. If it also has no power, check the circuit breaker or ground-fault circuit interrupter (GFCI) protection instead of assuming the air fryer has failed.
Reseat the basket, drawer, and safety-interlock parts
Many models will not start unless the drawer reaches its final position. Remove it, check for debris blocking the fit, and reinstall it without forcing tabs or interlock switches.
Let the unit cool if it shut down during heavy use
Thermal protection may temporarily interrupt power if the appliance overheats. Unplug it, allow it to cool according to the manual, and clear accessible air inlets before one more test.
Cord damage, burning odor, or repeated failure means stop using it
Do not open the base to hunt for internal fuses or bypass a safety switch. If the cord is damaged, there is an electrical smell, or the unit repeatedly shuts down without an external cause, contact the manufacturer or qualified service.
