A smart bulb may fail to connect because it is not actually in pairing mode, Wi-Fi is weak, it supports only a particular band, or the app and network settings are incompatible. Separate power, pairing mode, and network issues before repeatedly factory-resetting the bulb.
Confirm stable power first
If the bulb flickers irregularly or the wall switch is off, it cannot maintain a connection. Use a compatible socket and avoid dimmers that the manufacturer does not support.
Put it into the correct pairing mode
The on-off sequence differs by brand. Follow the model-specific procedure and look for the exact visual indicator; random repeated cycling can take it out of setup mode rather than help.
Check supported Wi-Fi bands and signal at the fixture
Many bulbs use only 2.4 GHz, while others support additional options. Check the manual and test signal in the bulb’s room rather than only beside the router.
Restart the app and network before erasing everything
Reopen the app, confirm required permissions, and restart the router if other devices are also failing. Save a factory reset for after power, signal, and credentials have been checked because it erases previous setup.
