Springtails are tiny and usually show up where moisture, organic matter, and microscopic fungi are available. Finding them indoors is more useful as a moisture clue than as a reason for broad indoor spraying.
Locate the moisture source
Check houseplants, bathrooms, basements, damp frames, and areas by doors. If they cluster in one spot, check moisture there and, when accessible, on the opposite side of that surface as well.
Correct exterior moisture near the house
Poor gutter discharge, overwatering, and wet mulch against the foundation can create habitat. Improve drainage and avoid keeping soaked organic material pressed against the building.
Lower indoor humidity when it is high
Ventilation, exhaust, and dehumidification can help depending on the space. If a dehumidifier runs constantly while humidity stays high, investigate a water source rather than only buying a larger unit.
Vacuum visible springtails and watch for recurrence
A small number can be removed physically. If they repeatedly return to the same location, correcting the damp condition that supports them is the priority.
