A coffee maker that powers on but does not brew may have a misseated reservoir, mineral buildup, a stuck valve, or a cycle blocked by settings. If it does not power on at all, troubleshooting starts with power and the cord rather than descaling.
Separate a power problem from a water-flow problem
If the display is dead, verify the outlet and inspect the cord without opening the base. If the machine powers and heats but does not move water, focus on the reservoir, flow path, and descaling.
Reseat the reservoir and confirm the water level
Removable reservoirs may need to press a valve when seated. Remove the tank, clean the mating area, fill within the marked limits, and reinstall it so it sits fully in place.
Descale using the manufacturer’s procedure
Mineral scale can narrow passages and slow or stop flow. Use the product and sequence recommended for the model; do not mix acids, bleach, or improvised cleaners inside the beverage path.
Abnormal noise, electrical odor, or internal leakage requires service
If the pump hums without moving water after proper descaling, a burning odor appears, or water reaches the base, unplug the machine. Do not open components containing heaters, pumps, or energized wiring.
