Air-fryer baskets and trays often have coatings that can be scratched by metal tools, abrasive pads, or harsh cleaners. Safe cleaning starts with the appliance unplugged and cool, separates removable parts, and keeps the base containing the fan and electronics out of water.
Unplug and let the appliance cool before removing the basket
Grease can remain very hot after the appliance is switched off. Wait until parts are safe to handle, remove the basket and tray, and discard crumbs without tipping them into air openings.
Wash removable parts with nonabrasive tools
Use warm water, mild dish soap, and a soft sponge when the manufacturer allows it. Soak only compatible removable parts; do not scrape baked-on grease with a knife, steel wool, or harsh pad.
Clean the cavity without soaking the fan or heating area
With the appliance cool and unplugged, wipe accessible surfaces with a barely damp cloth. Do not spray cleaner toward the fan, connections, or heating element and never immerse the appliance base.
Dry completely before reassembly and heating
Water trapped under the basket can create steam and damage finishes. Make sure no soap residue remains, reassemble only when dry, and stop using the appliance if the coating is peeling or electrical damage is visible.
