A blender is easiest to clean immediately after use, before residue dries around the blades and gasket. Unplug the base, disassemble only the parts the manual allows, wash the jar and accessories, and keep the motor base and electrical connections out of water.
Rinse the jar before food dries
Remove large residue and add warm water with a small drop of detergent. Some models allow a brief self-cleaning blend with the lid secured; follow the manual and do not overfill because foam and pressure can build.
Unplug before handling blades or disassembling
Blades remain sharp even when the appliance is off. Unplug the base, use the intended disassembly method, and handle the blade assembly by safe surfaces rather than running fingers along edges.
Clean gaskets and threads where residue hides
Thick blends can work under removable gaskets or collars. Wash and dry those parts as directed; a distorted or cracked gasket can leak and is better replaced.
Do not immerse the motor base
Wipe the exterior with a barely damp cloth and dry promptly. If liquid enters controls or ventilation openings, unplug the blender and stop using it until the manufacturer or service provider confirms it is safe.
