Useful termite signs include swarms of winged insects, discarded wings near windows, mud tubes on foundations or walls, and wood that sounds hollow or shows internal galleries. To check for bed bugs, do not rely on bites alone. With a flashlight, inspect mattress seams and labels, the box spring or bed base, headboard, bed frame and nearby furniture. Bed bugs are difficult to control, and a professional experienced in integrated pest management is often the most reliable option once activity is confirmed or repeated.
If you find fleas at home, address the whole problem: check pets with veterinary guidance, vacuum carpets, upholstery, cracks and resting areas frequently, and wash pet bedding and compatible textiles. If cockroaches appear at home, start with the conditions that let them stay: accessible food, water, shelter and entry points. Clean residues, store food and trash securely, fix leaks and seal gaps. If sightings remain frequent or occur in several areas, request a professional inspection using an integrated pest-management approach.
If fruit flies appear, look for the source first: overripe produce, beverage residue, trash, recycling or other damp organic material. Remove it, wash the container and reduce new fermentation sources. If activity does not clearly decline over several days, keep looking for a second hidden source.
To keep ants from returning, first watch where the trail goes and what is attracting them. Remove accessible food and steady water sources, wipe the route with soapy water, and seal practical entry gaps. If heavy activity persists after those changes, arrange a professional inspection.
