Match the click to refrigerator behavior
If it clicks and continues operating normally, it may be a control switching. If click-click accompanies a short hum and shutdown, note that cycle.
Check for stable power
A loose receptacle, unsuitable power strip, or poor supply can affect startup. The refrigerator should be connected as the manufacturer specifies, typically directly to a suitable outlet.
Listen for attempted compressor starts
Repeated clicking from the compressor area with little or no cooling can involve the start device, overload protector, or compressor. Internal diagnosis requires service.
Disconnect for burning odor or abnormal heat
Clicking accompanied by electrical odor, smoke, or a hot plug should not be ignored. Stop use and arrange inspection before powering it again.
