Resetting a boiler can clear a temporary lockout, but it does not repair the cause that triggered the fault. Do it only with the manufacturer’s user procedure and only after confirming there is no gas odor, major leak, overheating, or other sign that makes another startup unsafe.
Read the fault code before clearing it
Note or photograph the message so you can look it up. Resetting first can erase a useful clue about pressure, ignition, circulation, or a sensor.
Check only user-accessible conditions
Check visible pressure, thermostat settings, power, and valves the manual identifies for users. Do not remove the casing or adjust the gas valve, burner, or wiring.
Use the exact button or sequence for the model
Press or hold Reset only for the specified time and wait for the full startup cycle. Do not keep resetting if the same fault returns.
A repeated lockout needs diagnosis
If it fails again, stop resetting and get service. If you smell gas, leave and contact the appropriate gas service from outside rather than attempting another ignition.
