A robot vacuum collects hair around brushes and wheels, dust on sensors, and grime on charging contacts. Routine cleaning should be done with the unit powered off and gentle tools, keeping moisture away from electronics and optical sensors and respecting which filters are washable.
Power the robot off and empty the bin
Remove the bin over a trash container and clean dust from its seal and inlet. Do not blow debris toward sensor cavities or use high-pressure air that can drive particles deeper inside.
Remove hair from brushes and axles
Remove the main roller and side brushes if the design allows and cut hair away with the supplied tool or scissors carefully. Check the ends and bearings where strands often wrap and increase resistance.
Clean sensors and charging contacts dry
Wipe cliff sensors, camera or lidar windows, and charging contacts with a soft dry cloth according to the manual. Do not spray cleaner directly and avoid polishes that leave film on optical or electrical surfaces.
Maintain the filter, wheels, and charging dock
Clean or replace the filter according to its type and fully dry any washable part. Remove threads from wheels and dust from the dock with power disconnected; if a wheel remains stuck or the robot still will not charge, it needs diagnosis.
